Covid-19

Throughout the pandemic we have been guided by the advice from YHA, UK Hospitality and GOV.UK websites. As government guidance changes so will the measures we have in place.

From the 19th of July. All of our communal spaces will be open including: self catering kitchen, the dining room, lounge on the first floor, drying room, and our nice garden. We are also now able to open up more of our availability for rooms.

Removal of restrictions means we can go back to having shared shower and toilet facilities, with enhanced cleaning measures in place. We plan to re-introduce dorm beds, maybe not from day 1, but soon, making sure it feels (and is) safe for everyone.

Restrictions around groups have now been lifted. Groups are welcome to come and stay!

All this means that we will be able to open more hostel availability to more guests and begin to return to normal levels of occupancy, initially we will keep occupancy lower, as it is important that we take things slowly. Everyone will get a bit more space, and we will monitor this as we go on. The place should quickly return to feeling like the friendly communal space it was pre covid.

If you have any questions about how things will be during your stay here please do drop us an email or give us a call, we will do our best to help.

If we (Saul and Floss) become symptomatic or are contacted by Test and Trace, we will need to close immediately for a period of up to 14 days.

We will contact all of our guests as soon as possible to either move their booking or offer a full refund.

During your stay

Removal of restrictions means we can go back to having shared shower and toilet facilities, with enhanced cleaning measures in place.

We have measures in place to help our guests stay safe. We will practice social distancing, hand sanitiser stations are placed throughout the building, anti bacterial hand wash at every sink, and enhanced cleaning processes and measures that limit the number of shared surfaces between guests. We spray the soft furniture with Oxyvir sanitising spray (in the morning when most people are out) and removed many of the cushions which are harder to sanitise.

We have a ‘Book Quarantine’ at reception. If you have spent a little time with a book please leave it in the quarantine and we will keep it 72 hours before returning it to the shelf.

We intend to still ask everyone to wear a face covering and to use hand sanitiser when moving around the building.

The use of masks is expected from all guests, please be aware that there are some people who are exempt from this on medical grounds. They may not wish to discuss their medical issues with you, and in the first instance come to us if you have any concerns.

In order to encourage safe social distancing, we have some signage in social areas as a reminder to be considerate to each other.

Meals

We will reopen our self-catering kitchen which we see as one of the real cornerstones of the hosteling experience, and the welcome return of free tea and coffee!

We still offer our full menu for breakfast, packed lunches and dinner.
