We have 40 beds across eleven bedrooms: some larger family rooms, some smaller for couples and individuals. We happily accommodate large parties as well as couples or solo walkers on their journeys through the dales. You can hire the whole hostel for private parties and activity weekends all year round.
We have a wonderful dining room and pride ourselves on our hearty breakfasts and delicious evening meals. Plus there’s always our fully stocked kitchen for those in the mood to whip something up themselves.
We serve the most delicious food, from the lovely locally sourced breakfasts, home made packed lunches and hearty evening meals including our wonderful Eight Hour Beef Stew with proper mash and peppered cabbage. We have a nice large dining room with plenty of space to enjoy your food and stock a great range of local ales and ciders. We use a local award-winning butcher for all our meat and cook everything ourselves from scratch so we know what has gone into every delicious dish. If you have any special dietary needs please contact the hostel directly and we will do our best to help you.
For packed lunches we can make up great filled rolls with your choice of fillings: egg ‘n’ cress, cheese salad, tuna cucumber and ham salad – are all just £2.50. Crisps, biscuits and homemade flapjack are all available to buy from our kitchen. If you order the night before, we will have your sandwich ready for when you have finished your breakfast and away you go!
Our menu changes with the seasons, get in touch and we can email you a current list or turn up and see what is up on the board! In order to keep the costs down we ask for all evening meals to be ordered by 6pm and breakfast to be ordered the evening before. Light breakfasts cost around £3.50 with the Full Yorkshire Breakfast costing £6. Evening mains in the restaurant start at £9. Breakfast is at 8am, dinner is at 7pm, and lunch is whenever you stop walking and eat it!
Think handmade sausages, dry cured bacon, free range eggs, hash browns, beans, mushrooms cooked in butter. Then throw in coffee, tea, and as much toast as you want. How’s that to get your day started? There’s also a nice selection of juice, cereals, fresh croissants or porridge with brown sugar.
Kettlewell favourites include our famous Eight Hour Beef Stew with Mash and Peppered Cabbage, Homemade Meatballs with spicy tomato pasta and our sumptuous Smoked Salmon Tagliatelle. We have good, homemade soups for starters and there’s always something with custard for pudding!
We’ve tapped the best breweries Yorkshire has to offer and stock a range of great local ales to suite all tastes, including Wharfedale Blonde, Hetton Pale Ale, Yorkshire Terrier Bitter and Colemans Yorkshire Cider. We also have a nice selection of wines to compliment the food.
The Kettlewell is run by Saul, Floss, Molly and Humphrey. We are always happy to hear from you. Reach us on the phone at 01756 760232 or via email at saulward@hotmail.com.
